Throughout it's existence, the Lodge
has posessed three, possibly four banners. This is the most recent
having been comissioned following the Bicentenary Meeting in
1989, and dedicated by V.W.Bro. Peter Hemmingway, Past Grand Chaplain
on 1st October 1992.
The banner measures 6'6"X7'6" and when suspended on its carrying poles reaches a height of 12'. The previous banner which was dedicated by V.W.Bro. the Bishop of Barking on 2nd November 1916, was of oils painted on silk and with the advancing years (and some inconsiderate handling) it had got to such a state of disrepair that it would not be possible to renovate it. As accurate a copy as was possible was made and the new banner constructed of modern materials so as to last the test of time. The 1916 banner is still in the possession of the Lodge and it is hoped that it can be restored enough to be photographed and displayed here in due time.
