This Jewel was presented to Bro Thomas Southeran on 5th November 1858 "to commemorate his 50th year of membership," This Jewel was donated by the Lodge to the Museum at Gt. Queen Street where it is on display today.

Bro Southeran had already been presented on 4th March 1852 with a silver teapot bearing the following inscription:-

"Presented by the Lion & Lamb Lodge No. 227 of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, to Bro. Thomas Southeran, Past Master and Treasurer. In Testimony of the Affection, gratitude & regard they entertain towards him, for the Zeal and Energy he has displayed during the last 44 years in upholding the Honour and Interest of the Lodge." 4th March A.L. 5852.
