LION & LAMB CHAPTER No. 192

The Chapter was consecrated on 10th January 1872 but had existed since 1789, practising what was then know as the "Fourth Degree" or "Royal Arch". The Lion & Lamb Lodge No.258 (now192) from its origin in 1789 was empowered like many other lodges to confer the Degree on any qualified member prior to the Union of the Ancients and Moderns in 1813. As I am sure you are aware, when the two Grand Chapters united in 1813 , Chapters working prior to the union were required to signify to Grand Chapter which Lodge they desired to be attached to within a reasonable period of time. This would enable Confirmation and Warrant to be issued. Regretfully members of the Chapter did not register, otherwise the Chapter would have been granted a Centenary Jewel Warrant in 1889 as with the Lion & Lamb Lodge No. 192.
